Financial markets are complex, with dozens of interrelated variables causing shifts on a daily basis. IM Academy, an online financial education platform, educates students on these variables and shifts.
The platform’s newest offering, IMpulse, uses a proprietary method to scan markets and distill over 50 market variables into a single arrow that helps students focus on market momentum.
With the launch of IMpulse, IM Academy hopes to provide students with an educational resource for understanding market engagement and analyzing the foreign exchange (forex) and digital currency markets.
Time-Based Market Engagement
With a focus on forex and digital currency markets, many of IM Academy’s online materials educate students on time-based strategies. These markets move quickly, and market participants often engage in approaches such as scalping, which involves making several exchanges over the course of a day. When engaging in this and other fast-paced strategies, it’s crucial to know how to recognize patterns and understand how subtle changes in market activity can lead to broader fluctuations.
To educate students on the subtleties of these dynamic markets, IM Academy provides a mix of lectures, readings, strategies, and apps, as well as live mentorship from educators. IM Academy students focus on the forex market with the FRX Academy, the digital currency market through the DCX Academy, or a general time-based approach that could apply to both markets through the TBX Academy.
While each academy includes unique material, they share a focus on pattern-based and time-based approaches to understanding markets. For example, IM Academy students study candlestick patterns, Elliott Wave patterns, and Fibonacci retracement at the FRX, DCX, and TBX academies. These approaches apply mathematical analysis to market activity with the aim of forecasting when periods of market engagement will be amplified.
Using the IMpulse Strategy
The IMpulse strategy is a feature of the FRX, DCX, and TBX academies. It’s designed to apply to scalping, swing, and intraday approaches to markets such as forex, commodities, digital currencies, and stocks. IM Academy students access the strategy via a laptop or smartphone using the IM Academy portal or app.
The goal of utilizing the IMpulse strategy is to encapsulate complex information in a straightforward, accessible metric. The arrow indicator alerts IM Academy students to overarching market trends, allowing students to track activity over time and study shifts within different time frames. Some students may be interested in analyzing daily shifts, while others take a more long-term approach. In either case, in tracking the evolution of trends over time, the IMpulse strategy is designed to educate IM Academy students on how market engagement affects stability and volatility in a variety of markets and across a variety of time frames.
IM Academy’s Growth in 2022
IMpulse is one of several new offerings launched by IM Academy in 2022. Christopher Terry, IM Mastery Academy co-founder and CEO, has debuted two new academies this year. The time-based TBX Academy went live in May, and in June, Terry announced IM Academy’s Travel and Lifestyle (TLX) Academy, which offers members access to travel discounts and the opportunity to take themed trips that emphasize financial education.
These developments signal that IM Academy, now in its ninth year of operation, is focused on continuing to grow and advance its approach to education. The inclusion of IMpulse across the TBX, FRX, and DCX academies suggests that this new strategy will be an important component of the Academy’s educational approach going forward.
Note: IM Academy is an educational forum for analyzing, learning, and
discussing general and generic information related to markets and
strategies. IM Academy does not provide personalized recommendations
or views as to whether an investment approach is suited to the financial
needs of a specific individual. Before deciding to participate in the forex or
other markets, you should carefully consider your investment objectives,
level of experience, and risk. Most importantly, do not invest money you
cannot afford to lose. You should take independent financial advice from a
professional in connection with, or independent of, research and verify any information you find on the IM Academy website.
Cryptocurrency-dominated investments may expose you to great risk. Cryptocurrencies are not FDIC-insured, are often not exchangeable for other commodities, are subject to price volatility, and have little to no regulation. Speculating in cryptocurrencies should only be performed by sophisticated investors who are prepared to lose their entire investment.
