Smaller Size Classes

Learning is a divine process which decorates a students or kid’s life forever. Students go to school, learn and benefit from their present to decorate their future. Education is the basic right of any student and kid in the whole world. And no child should be left behind in getting education. Regarding this concept government created many programmes and plans so that almost every student and kid can get education which resulted as mind shaking results that poor and middle-class students could not continue their education after fifth standard hence government formulated a chain of public schools where fees was minimum and students can get all the facilities which they required for proper study and learning process.

Regarding this, the government launched vacancies also for teachers and the government received not a single  application for teaching job  but a lot of applications. Regarding this the teacher who sends the application for teaching job regarding this mission must have a professional teaching degree. All such preparations are the base of successful running of public schools. But over a few years it has been a matter of discussion that the size of classes should be reduced because classes filled with more than ample numbers of students are creating chaos and most importantly students are not getting proper answers to their queries and doubts.

Every such big organization has ERP (enterprise resource planning) and according to ERP, classes having small mass are always better for the students. This is the reason why private tuition culture is nourishing in India because they knowingly keep the number of students less in a batch so as to give concentration to the students.

It is found in studies that smaller sized classrooms provide more chances to the students to study and ask more queries to the tutors so that their confusion can be cleared and their concepts can have wide clarity in the mind of the students. Smaller sized classes have a lot of things in the favour of students such as more personal attention and additional instructional help which makes their concepts and theories in their minds clearer assumptions to perform in exams. Although there are several benefits of smaller sized classes but few are being elucidated as below:

  • With smaller sized classrooms teachers get a chance to focus on each and every student properly. They become able to focus on their performances and their weaknesses. According to which they get freedom to decide teaching style suitable for the students and their grasping power. This treatment makes students feel satisfied and relax about their academic performances also.
  • Student-teacher bond gets stronger and students get closer to their tutor and this way both of them understand each other properly professionally and personally also to make a proper learning and teaching bond. In smaller schools, students get more chances to interact with teachers and understand their teachings in a detailed manner. Students get to know their tutor in depth apart from that robust face which the teacher is seen in often.
  • When there is a smaller group of students to teach then it creates less distraction while teaching and due to less distraction’s teacher becomes able to perform well in the class in front of the students. He or she doesn’t have to shout & waste time while teaching to make the students keep silent in the class for a smooth teaching-learning process.
  • Students get more time to know about their tutors and their teaching styles and they explore it also & this makes the students participate more and more in the class activities organized by the tutor.
  • Tutors get more time to focus on the students and to perform research work to search for more information for the students and to bring new data for them to learn which are derived from new experiments and researches. Such new information enhances the knowledge level of the students and they earn good grades in the exams.
  • Even those students who are introverted and feel shy to speak in a crowd, they also start to muster the courage to speak and interact in class because having fewer students around such kids makes them little confident and to take initiative to come out of their shell of shyness.
  • As there are less students in the class the teachers also get more time to focus on teaching as they don’t have to look much after discipline issues.
